The Renovation Begins!

You may have been wondering, what is going on with the church sanctuary renovation? Glad you asked! Your Sanctuary Renovation Committee, chaired by Dr. Art West, has been busy these last few months. As a committee, we have seen God’s providence with vendor selection, cost containment, and teamwork. The committee has also been greatly blessed by the consultation and guidance of church interior designer, Yelena Shevchenko.

Provided below is a brief renovation overview and update for 2019:

Business meeting held previously this year approving the sanctuary design plan
Contractor chosen to remodel the stage and baptistry
Pew restoration company chosen
Paint colors chosen and contractor selected
Sanctuary & lobby flooring chosen and installer selected
Windows chosen and installer selected
Chandeliers chosen and installer selected
Sanctuary renovation requires an estimated two months to complete
The last Sabbath before the renovation begins will be June 22 (VBS Sabbath)
The inaugural Sabbath for a special dedication of the new sanctuary is targeted for August 24

Beginning June 29, the church will meet in the Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy Gymnasium. Sabbath school classes will continue to meet as usual, although some of our adult classes will need to be relocated. We ask for your patience as we are temporarily displaced from the church sanctuary and adjacent classrooms.

Most importantly, during this time of active sanctuary renovation, please pray for the materials to arrive on time, the remodel work be performed with top workmanship and on time, and that the overall project will be within the budget.

Our budget for the renovation is $400,000, and we currently have approximately $300,000. As this project is approaching completion, we are seeking an additional $100,000 in pledges. Please consider making additional pledges to help us complete the renovation.

Please pray the Lord continues to lead and keep us unified as a church family. May the Lord be glorified with our newly renovated sanctuary! And may our hearts be daily renovated as “all-in” followers of Jesus!
