Perfect Timing

I am so thankful to have received a text that came at the perfect time earlier this week. In light of COVID-19, and the recent “shelter in place” mandate for all citizens, it appeared that our “All About Jesus” Seminar needed to be canceled this week. How could I ask Pastor Lee Venden to present the balance of his presentations to an empty church sanctuary? Sure, we were live-streaming with some viewers, but without a live audience, what was the point? Hence, the idea was either to cancel the series or play a DVD of a previous series. Neither option seemed great. And so we began to earnestly pray on Monday night: “Lord, do you want this series to continue this week? If so, do you want Pastor Lee preaching live or through a DVD?”

On Tuesday, the next morning, around 8:30 AM, I received this text:

“Good morning! I wanted to send my thanks and gratitude, and above all praise to God, for Him sending the revival seminar right now during this week! It couldn’t have come at a better time! With the “shelter in place” more people are at home and wondering how they can spend their time. Well, God had that all figured out! Instead of watching a movie or the news that can be discouraging, families have two hours of an uplifting message to end their day! Thank you for taking the opportunity to have Pastor Venden come when the door was open! How better to hear words of hope now when so many are in moments of fear and panic! May we be a light to others as we continue the series and see God shine brighter in the darkness!"

When I received that text, I believed that God had spoken, and I shared the text with Pastor Lee. And he said he and has wife had been praying and that God gave them a similar message to stay the course and keep doing the series live!

The “All About Jesus” Seminar, which began last Friday evening, continues to grow in viewership every night! The presentations are always practical and give us a fresh desire for a deeper relationship with Jesus! Yesterday, during my time with Jesus, after praying again for His blessings upon our series, He spoke to me in a Psalms I just happened to come across. It reads as follows:

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. Psalms 138:7

Indeed, we are living right now in a time of a threatening pandemic! But You promise, Lord, to “revive” us despite this trouble! You promise Jesus to lift us up on eagle's wings. You promise to never leave us nor forsake us! You promise to draw us close, as we draw close to You!
