Building a Better You!

As we begin a brand-new year together, consider this startling fact: Today's children may have a shorter life span than their parents.

How could this be, in light of the incredible medical advancements and treatments of the past 50 years? The answer, a departure from healthy living practices.

The world is sick. Wherever people live, suffering abounds – from mental, emotional and physical troubles. And the typical search for relief is not found in a new health practice, but in a little round pill. Which explains why a pharmacy is on virtually every corner.

How bad is our health? Studies show that 50% of Americans suffer from some form of chronic disease – such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, dementia, autoimmune diseases, allergies, acid reflux, irritable bowels, neurological problems, depression and anxiety, thyroid, hormonal, menstrual disorders, skin problems and more. Other studies show that approximately 80% of these diseases are preventable and reversible.

God wants us to understand the laws that govern the body! He wants to bring our life practices into harmony with those laws. The Lord also wants us to also understand the correlations between the mind, body and spirituality. Apparently, God has a health plan that is second to none, if we would just follow it.

This Sabbath we begin a brand-new sermon series entitled: Building a Better You. And as usual, Jesus has some incredible health practices to share with us. For example, Jesus was a walker – putting in an estimated 20 plus miles per day. But Jesus and His Word reveals that health is far more than exercise, so I hope you can join us for this exciting and relevant five-part series.

"Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit."  -3 John 1:2
