Garden Tomb

Garden Tomb

I’ll never forget the time we gathered together for a worship service in a garden. It was no ordinary garden. It was surrounded by high cliffs, with a particular cave. In front of the cave was a very large round millstone. It was surreal to be in the place that changed humanity forever.

As we sat in the garden tomb area, the scripture was read: But very early on Sunday morning, the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. Luke 24:1-3 NLT

We too had a chance to look inside the ancient cave that had also been a tomb. Indeed it was empty. That cave, or one like it, had housed the body of the Savior of the world, but on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, completing His mission.

This Sabbath we celebrate the event that gives all humanity hope beyond the grave! We remember that Jesus died but also rose from His undeserved death, taking our punishment for sin! The resurrection of our Lord is certainly worth reflecting upon and celebrating!

Our service will be extra distinctive because of the baptism of Justine Sabanal and the baby dedication of Nathaniel Tuazon.

Hope to see you for our special Sabbath service! He is Risen!
