Stocking the Food Pantry

As you probably know, the church operates a food pantry (Adventist
Community Services) that distributes food to over 200 families in our
community every month. This time every year, the Pathfinder Club
collects approximately 7,000 items of canned goods from Pleasant Hill
residents to help supplement the inventory of our food pantry. However,
due to the pandemic, the community-driven food drive will not be
happening.
Therefore, we as a church have a
tremendous opportunity to share from our plenty and help support our
church food pantry. Beginning this Sabbath, non-perishable food will be
collected at the church.
Here is what we ask you to donate:
Canned foods of all kinds
Breakfast cereal
Quaker Oatmeal
Peanut Butter
Please
bring your food items (in a paper sack) this Sabbath where it will be
boxed by our Pathfinders and given to our food pantry. Please check the
expiration date of your donated food. Please do not donate perishable
items. If you wish to donate at some other time, please contact the
church office to schedule a drop off. Please do not leave your donated
food at the front door of the food pantry as it is not secure and sure
to be taken.
Let’s each one do what we can to
help our food pantry feed the hungry families in our area. Let’s be the
hands and feet of Jesus!
When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the LORD, and the LORD will pay you back. Proverbs 19:17
