Miracles in Rwanda!

It was 16 years ago when I had the privilege of visiting the
country of Rwanda in the heart of Africa. While there, I took in the
lush vegetation and rolling hills. The people were so incredibly warm,
friendly and full of smiles. But behind the wonder of this incredible
country was a history of deep pain and loss. History reveals that
between April and July 1994, hundreds of thousands of Rwandans were
murdered in the most rapid genocide ever recorded. The killers used
simple tools – machetes, clubs and other blunt objects - sparing their
bullets - or herded people into buildings and set them aflame with
kerosene. Most of the victims were called Tutsi, most of the killers
were called Hutus.
While there, we visited a
genocide memorial site where hundreds of once-vibrant people lay
motionless, in fully exposed open graves, a pungent reminder of the
senseless mass killings. What a testament to the cruelty of man.
But
God was in Rwanda in 1994. And the Lord did miraculously spare at least
one Tutsi! This Sabbath we are graced to have Dr. Phodidas
Ndamyumugabe, professor at Weimar University and survivor of the
genocide! Some may recall he was here a few months ago, but he is back
by popular demand to share the rest of his story!
This Sabbath, Dr. Phodidas will share two powerful presentations:
10:00 AM – Church Sanctuary Sabbath School – “The Power of Prayer!”
11:15 AM – Worship Service Sermon – “Saved for His Service”
Hope you can join us this Sabbath, and bring a friend, to listen to this incredible modern-day miracle story!
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1
Blessings!
