Disaster In Turkey

The aftermath of one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike this century is being experienced in Turkey and Syria this week. The 7.8 earthquake has been followed by over 100 aftershocks, some as massive as 7.5. Nearly 6,000 buildings have collapsed in Turkey. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes. Thousands have been injured, and approximately 12,000 have died.

The efforts to rescue victims has been hampered by arctic winter storms. The situation is growing more dire as officials begin to calculate the total devastation from the quake. Hourly, more quake survivors are being pulled from the rubble, but the number is sure to drop as more days pass when victims have no water or food. Prayers are needed to help rescue those who are still trapped and alive.

Something else we can do is send a donation to help bring food, water, blankets, and shelter to the thousands who have suffered from this tragedy. Whatever you can give will make a difference. Whatever you might spend to take your family out to dinner, give it for the rescue effort.

To donate to the cause, consider giving through Adventist Development and Relief Agency. Click here to DONATE.

Thanks for your prayers and tangible help to the victims of this massive earthquake! Together, we can make a difference!
