Purging Time

One of the benefits of this pandemic season and sheltering in place
has been an opportunity to take inventory and organize. Whether it’s
cleaning out the garage, your closet, or any number of piles that may
have accumulated in your home over time, what better time than now to
get it done?
We have certainly taken advantage
of the church closure to do some major cleaning and organizing. In
addition to painting all of the Sabbath School rooms, each room has been
reorganized, including the closets and drawers. Worn out, damaged, and
antiquated items have been disposed of. New supplies and chairs have
been purchased for each classroom. All in anticipation of when we safely
return to indoor church and Sabbath School. (By the way, outdoor church
begins September 12! Stay tuned for more details).
One
of the final areas yet to be cleaned and purged is our church library.
For over 60 years, the library has served our members. But the last
decade has seen a slow and steady decline in demand, thanks to the
internet. Today, the library room has become one giant storage closet.
The time has come to close the library. However, before that happens, we
want to give you a chance to scour the library, choose any book(s) you
wish and add it to your personal collection. Next week, all are welcome
to come and sort through the library. The library will be open Monday
through Thursday next week 9 AM to 5 PM. If you wish to come in the
evening, please contact the church office or a pastor and we will open
the library to you.
As we order our homes and our church, let us remember that God is a God of order.
But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. 1 Corinthians 14:40
