Busy Sabbath!
Author: Pastor Mitch Williams
March 18, 2021
It was January 11, 2020, when I first noticed him. A voice from the
back of the church proclaiming uninhibited “Amens” and “Let’s go” and
“That’s good” during the sermon. He came to church the next Sabbath and
the next, always bringing encouragement to the preacher with his
relentless “Amens.” More than one church member thought he was my friend
who I must have been paying for his public spiritual accolades. I
decided to get to know this young man and invited him for Sunday
breakfast. He turned out to be Aaron, an accountant by trade who had
recently discovered the truth about the Sabbath, leading to the
discovery of our church. Since that time we have become good friends and
studied the Bible together. Thanks to the promptings of the Holy
Spirit, this Sabbath we officially welcome Aaron into the Seventh-day
Adventist Church through profession of faith!
This
Sabbath we are also privileged to have Reno Moreno share his testimony
and publicly give his life to Jesus in the waters of baptism. Reno is a
freshman at Pacific Union College. Over the last several months, he has
been studying the Bible with Pastor Miguel and is eager to follow in the
footsteps of Jesus into the Jordan River. His parents, Lisa and Reno
Moreno, are also very excited with their son’s decision. There is no
greater joy for parents than to see their child choose to follow Jesus!
And
this Sabbath afternoon at 2 PM, we will be distributing a book called
“Health & Wellness – Secrets That Will Change Your Life” to homes in
our Pleasant Hill community. Whether you are a teenager or adult,
everyone is invited help with this important community outreach event.
Let’s
also please keep the “Revelations of Hope” evangelistic series (April
2-10) in your prayers and be sure to invite a friend or family member to
attend. Send a digital invitation by going to this link:
