Christmas Time is Here!

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just two weeks away! Yikes! With so much yet to do, coupled with the hardships of the pandemic, the joy of Christmas is being tested!

How easy it is to make Christmas all about the presents, decorations, cards, desserts, gatherings and holiday traditions. But isn’t Christmas first and foremost about celebrating the miracle that God became a human?

“Because of Bethlehem, I have a Savior in heaven. Christmas begins what Easter celebrates. The child in the cradle became the King on the cross. And because he did, there are no marks on my record. Just grace.” Max Lucado

The exuberance of Christmas is more than connecting with family and friends, more than gift exchanges, and more than tasty meals and singing carols. In fact, the joy of Christmas transcends any difficulty, stress, set-back or disappointment you may have experienced in 2020. The truth is, Christmas is glorious because we are tangibly reminded that Jesus came to this earth to rescue you and me! What a gift!

For God so loves the world, that he has given his only Son, so that none who believe in him should perish, but should have everlasting life. John 3:16

So in the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season, may we ponder afresh the glory of the newborn King who promises to come again and bring His people home!
