Back to school!

Do you remember getting ready for the first day of school?
When I was in elementary school, I attended La Sierra Adventist Academy, and I remember fondly those first days back to school. The routine was always the same. My parents purchased some new clothes, shoes, and school supplies for me. When the first day of school arrived, I was filled with excitement, anticipation and a little apprehension. What would my new teacher be like? Who would be the new students? And would all of my old friends be back?
This Thursday, school officially begins at Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy (PHAA). Whether a student is in Kindergarten or beginning college, the emotions always run high as the new routine, demands, and classmates fall into place.
This Sabbath we dedicate PHAA students and teachers as they begin a new year of growing spiritually, academically and socially. We will also dedicate all other students and teachers in every school system. Learning is an important aspect of life and keeps us young. Henry Ford once said, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
Let’s pray for a beautiful new season of education for each one of our students and teachers in our church community. And if you are interested in helping out at PHAA, as a volunteer, teacher’s aide, assistant coach, etc., please get in contact with the school. Together, we are preparing the next generation of Christ followers!
"He who co-operates with the divine purpose in imparting to the youth a knowledge of God, and molding the character into harmony with His, does a high and noble work. As he awakens a desire to reach God's ideal, he presents an education that is as high as heaven and as broad as the universe; an education that cannot be completed in this life, but that will be continued in the life to come; an education that secures to the successful student his passport from the preparatory school of earth to the higher grade, the school above."
~ Ellen White
