Black History Sabbath

One of the things I deeply appreciate about our church is its rich cultural diversity. Our congregation reflects the beautiful tapestry of society, bringing together people from countless ethnic backgrounds around the world. This diversity is not just a blessing—it is a glimpse of what awaits us in heaven.
The book of Revelation paints a powerful picture of every nation, tribe, people, and language gathered before the throne in the New Jerusalem. As the beloved hymn reminds us, "Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His sight." In heaven, all God's children—regardless of race or background—will dwell together in perfect unity. What a glorious vision of God’s kingdom!
This Sabbath, we joyfully celebrate the rich ethnic diversity within our church family, with a special focus on the contributions and heritage of African Americans. We are honored to welcome guest speaker Elder Marc Woodson, President of the Northern California Conference, who will deliver a powerful message titled “The Spirit of Black History.”
In his sermon, Elder Woodson will explore how the essence of Black History Month is beautifully reflected in Christ’s parable of the Good Samaritan, reminding us of the call to compassion, justice, and unity in Christ. Join us for this meaningful and inspiring celebration!
We hope you can join us and be blessed—and don’t forget to bring a friend! After the worship service, we invite you to stay for a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share as we enjoy food, fellowship, and community together. We look forward to seeing you there!
"I looked, and there was a great number of people, so many that no one could count them. They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language of the earth. They were all standing before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands."
Revelation 7:9
