Coming Clean!
One of the hardest things we do as human beings is repent. It’s not natural for us to humble ourselves, admit we were wrong, and seek forgiveness. We’d much rather defend our actions, hide our faults, or blame others. Pride clings to our hearts like a stubborn weed. Even when it comes to Jesus — the One who knows us completely — we still struggle to confess our sins honestly.
Yet here’s the beautiful truth: when we finally do come clean—when we acknowledge our sin, make amends where we can, and seek our Lord’s forgiveness — it brings freedom. There is no burden lighter than a heart that has been cleansed by God’s grace.
This Sabbath, we’ll reflect on two men who betrayed Jesus. Their stories stand as a warning — and a promise. One allowed pride and regret to destroy him; the other found mercy and restoration in the arms of Christ. Their lives remind us that no failure is too great for God’s forgiveness when we truly repent.
We will come to the communion table together this Sabbath — to remember, to confess, and to receive fresh grace and love from our Savior. So I encourage you: prepare your heart. Make things right where you can. Ask forgiveness — from each other, and especially from the Lord, who stands ready to forgive.
Come ready to receive the gift that only Jesus can give. I look forward to seeing you at the table this Sabbath.
