Farewell Event

Farewell Event

By now, you have heard the news that the Lord has called the Verazas family to the Loma Linda University Church. It’s hard to believe that Pastor Miguel and Ashley have been a part of our church family for over eight years. Since their first Sabbath back in August, 2016, God gave them Annalise and then Noah. But as the Bible says, there is a time for every activity under the sun, including when a pastor comes and a pastor goes.

Pastor Miguel was more than a Youth Pastor. He was a friend to many in our church. His passion for Jesus was evident in his kindness, commitment, and willingness to serve in so many ways. I so appreciate Pastor Miguel, not just as devoted and effective colleague, but as a very dear friend and confidante. His departure will be felt not just by our church, but by this pastor who worked at his side through countless ministry challenges and blessings.

A farewell event has been scheduled for Saturday, December 14, at 6:30 PM, in the Multipurpose Room of PHAA. Please plan to attend to share your love by your presence and with a note or card. Stay tuned for more details about this important milestone in the life of our church.

On behalf of The Hill, we will always consider the Verazas family a special part of our church DNA. They are forever grafted into us, and we into them. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for the big move, their last Sabbath being December 21.

We certainly do look forward to the day when “goodbye” will no longer be a part of our vocabulary. When we will forever live together on the same street in the New Jerusalem, with Jesus our Lord. But until that day, we trust the Lord to continue giving us strength and direction, for His purpose, until He returns!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
