Health for Life

Dan Buettner, author of The Blue Zones, shares an encouraging discovery: Only about 10% of how long we live is determined by our genes, while the remaining 90% is influenced by our lifestyle and environment.

Think about that! Does this mean that because cancer runs in my family, I am destined to develop it? Or because heart disease has affected your father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, you will inevitably suffer the same fate? What about my family history of diabetes? Am I destined to develop it as I get older?

Not necessarily! While family history may increase our risk, our genes do not have to determine our destiny. Research shows that the choices we make each day, what we eat, how active we are, how we manage stress, and how we care for our bodies, can profoundly influence our health and longevity.

That is good news! God has given us remarkable opportunities to improve our health and quality of life through simple, everyday choices.

And that is why I am especially excited about this weekend! We are welcoming Ernie and Kim Layon of City Exodus, who will share four inspiring and practical presentations on healthy living, faith, and God's natural remedies.

Friday, October 23
7:00 PM – Moving Forward in Faith

Sabbath, October 24
10:00 AM – A Work for This Time
11:15 AM – God's Answer to Every Disease
1:00 PM – Fellowship Potluck Lunch
2:30 PM – The Secrets of Natural Remedies

Whether you are looking to improve your health, prevent disease, strengthen your immune system, or discover simple natural remedies, there will be something valuable for everyone!

I hope you will make a special effort to join us for all four presentations. And please invite a friend! What a wonderful opportunity to share God's love through the gift of better health.

"Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."
3 John 1:2 (NIV)
