In Remembrance

Nothing is more special than when families come together at the dinner table. The food, fellowship, and memories created around that table are truly unforgettable. Did I mention the food?

It’s no wonder Jesus gave one of His most important messages when He and His disciples were gathered around the table. Jesus even used food elements to help the disciples understand what He would do for them on the cross.

Today, as Christians in the 21st century, we remember the tangible message that Jesus shared so long ago. This Sabbath, we come together as a family to the table in order to remember Jesus’ body and blood through the bread and the grape juice of communion. We encourage you to come with your heart prepared to serve and commemorate this great reminder of the death and resurrection of Christ. Let us also not forget that this service is a unifying act of worship, joy, and remembrance of our Savior’s unmatchable love!

In connection with our communion service this Sabbath, we have a wonderful tradition of collecting a very special offering for the deacons’ fund. This fund is meant to help individuals in our church and community who may need financial assistance. After our communion service, deacons will be standing with collection plates by the exits. If you feel blessed and have any extra funds to share—even if it’s a small amount—please come prepared to give in the form of cash or check. You can also contribute using our online Adventist Giving portal.

In addition to our communion service, we have three more baptisms this coming Sabbath. It will be a great joy to witness as Leah Gomez, Nicholas Gomez, and Luis Seminario make their public commitment to Christ. We encourage each one of you to come and be blessed by what God is doing in our church.

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’”
