Season of Gratitude

As we enter the Thanksgiving holiday season, surrounded by family, friends, and great food, we are called to especially remember all that we have to be thankful for in our lives.
It is part of the human condition to become so accustomed to the positive aspects of our lives—such as health, family, employment, and comfort—that we can fail to maintain an attitude of gratitude for them. In truth, we may develop a sense of entitlement, assuming that we inherently deserve everything we have.
But the fact is, the Bible tells us, "Every good gift is from above." Every positive aspect of your life and mine comes from God. Every peaceful relationship, our healthy body, our strength, and our ability to think are all gifts from the Lord. This is the season to especially thank the Lord for His incredible goodness!
And more than all the good things we experience in our lives, the greatest gift we have is our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His life for you and me. The love of Jesus demonstrated on the Cross, and His daily provision for our sustenance and spiritual growth, are the greatest reasons to be thankful this holiday season!
So rejoice and be grateful always, for Jesus has given you many incredible things, most of all, Himself as your eternal friend!
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!"
1 Chronicles 16:34
