Signs of Autumn

The most colorful time of year is almost here! Amid the falling leaves and changing temperatures, we are greeted by amazing colors that feast our eyes. This is the season when the weather is pleasantly balanced, neither too hot nor too cold. Autumn is also the time of harvest. Indeed the season of Fall may be my favorite time of year. It also happens to be the Lord’s favorite season as well!

Jesus once said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest-ready fields.” Matthew 9:37-38

Christians are called to be harvesters, to bring in the sheaves and to help bring people to Christ. The Great Commission given by Jesus is about laboring in the fields and diligently seeking a harvest.

You may wonder, “How can a person like me be a harvester?” The answer is simple; by inviting people to an abundant life in Jesus! Harvesting for Jesus always begins with friendship, and then moves to an invitation. Ask your friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member, to come and attend an event at your church.

The first event to invite your friend is the Steve Green Christian Concert – happening on Saturday, September 28, at 7 PM. The second invitation is for our Astonishing Discoveries and Prophecies Seminar, beginning on Thursday, October 17, at 7 PM. The second event is a fascinating look at Archaeology and the Bible.

You and I are harvesters! In this season of Autumn, let us be prayerfully thinking and inviting those who are in our circle of friendships. Let us harvest with a simple invitation. And let us accompany our guests to these exciting upcoming events!

And most of all, let us pray for the Lord of the harvest to bless our efforts! May God bless your invitations and those hearts who receive them!

"Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together."
~ John 4:36
