Silent Orbit

You may have heard that history was just made as four astronauts traveled to the moon aboard the largest spacecraft ever built, called Artemis II. This marked the first crewed lunar mission since 1972. Although the astronauts did not land on the moon, they passed behind it for several hours, capturing breathtaking images and conducting important tests.
As they moved behind the moon, something significant happened, the communication signal between Artemis II and NASA’s command center was temporarily lost. During this period, the astronauts could neither send nor receive messages. It was a planned silence … yet still an unsettling one.
That moment of silence is a powerful reminder of our relationship with God.
There are times in life when God seems silent. In the chaos of life or hardship, we may find ourselves asking:
Where are You, God?
Why aren’t my prayers being answered?
Why did You allow this to happen?
Silence is never easy, even when we believe God is still in control. Yet it is often in those quiet, uncertain moments that our faith is tested and ultimately strengthened.
If you find yourself in a season where God feels silent, don’t lose heart. Wait patiently. Trust expectantly. He has not stopped listening.
“But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.”
— Micah 7:7
