Mystery

I consider it a pure joy to be able to be part of the body of
Christ! As the lyrics to this well-known song state, “I’m so glad I'm a
part of the family of God…”
Have you ever
stopped to think about the mystery of being part of the family of God?
We really have to pause and ask the question, when was the last time
that I was in awe about being part of the family of God? Have we
considered the ultimate honor it is to be part of the body of Christ?
“This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.”
—Ephesians 5:32
Think
of it this way, the sun is ninety-three million miles away and you are
unable to stare at it. How is it possible that we are connected with the
One who shines brighter than that ninety-three-million-miles-away sun?
Even the angels cover their faces in the presence of God’s brilliance.
Yet we are connected to Him! Just pause and see the wonder of who God is
and the extraordinary fact that we are a part of His family. As 1 Peter
1:8 states, “rejoice with joy that is inexpressible.” I challenge us
today to rejoice and meditate on the great mysteries of our God.
